Jazz, Timeless, Charcoal on Paper, 24” x 19”, 2006
I love creating in Realism using graphite and charcoal because it catches the subjects’ pure form without the distraction of color with its tint, tone, and shade. The viewer can place whatever hues their imagination fills in.
Popular in the '20s, '30s, and '40s was the pinstripe suit, hats, and jazz. While the suit and what adorns men's heads change, the deep sound of a bass in a jazz ensemble is a constant.
